In every society, a natural sense of pity exists for the unemployed or the BEROZGAR. This very word signifies a kind of BECHARGI (i.e. helplessness). The term is a vivid reminder of the typical Bollywood or Lollywood hero who after graduating with BA (a Bachelor of Arts), announces to his widowed mother that his degree will sanction the end of all their financial turmoil. He tells her to stop sewing clothes to support the family, and relax while her son, the graduate, will earn a living. From there on the job search starts. He goes from office to office in search of a job. Signs of NO VACANCY are shown in the following clips. His shoes are shown to be getting rough. His clothes become rusty. Nevertheless, he remains defiant, but to no avail. He then becomes a victim of depression and blames his failure to our society's repression of the working class. This picture by far, reflects the majority sentiment of our Pakistani youth. However, we must look at the other side of the picture. Let us move forward from the state of BECHARGI to a state of CHARGI (energy).
