a rewarding environment by refining our thought process... teaches
one to reject negative thoughts which attribute one’s failure...
motivates one to improve the thinking process ... triggers a positive
internal change…raises a storm by showing enormous possibilities
of bringing changes in the way we think, see, and listen… book

A
brilliant piece of work integrating the positive beliefs of Islam
which are so often overlooked with the positive thinking of behavioral
psychology. …author has drawn from personal experiences as well
as given excellent anecdotes and metaphors to explain the theories,
which are predominant in modern day psychology.

Importance
of Attitude |
|
|
| Performance
in any sphere of life depends on three things: |
1.Knowledge
about the work at hand
2.Skills required to perform it
3.Attitude that motivates and creates a desire to do something) |
Performance
thus is:
P = (K + S) A (P = Performance,
K = Knowledge,
S = Skills, and A = Attitude) |
| A
man is running a machine for many years. He knows the machine well
and so deserves 100 points. Trained in handling it, he knows how
to best operate it, when to oil it and when and how to clean it.
He gets 90 points for that. Expert in operating, servicing, cleaning,
overhauling, he is the most senior and the most qualified man in
the company and has trained other foremen. But his machine has high
downtime and number of accidents for he does not want to put his
knowledge into practice. He teaches everyone else the value and
importance of regular servicing and care, but does not apply his
knowledge and skills to his machine. His attitude merits "0".
|
| The
performance in this case is: |
P
= (K + S) A
P = (100 + 90) 0
P = (190) 0
P = (0) |
